Format-Free Manuscript Submission

Focus on your research, not formatting. Submit your manuscript in any consistent format.

Simplifying the Submission Process

At Boston Research, we understand that formatting requirements can be time-consuming and may delay important research from reaching the scientific community. That’s why we’ve adopted format-free submission across all our journals.

All Boston Research journals now accept format-free submissions, joining over 300 journals worldwide (like Taylor and Francis, Wiley, Elsevier, etc.) that have adopted this author-friendly approach.

What is Format-Free Submission?

Format-free submission means you can submit your manuscript without worrying about specific formatting requirements such as reference styles, font specifications, or margin settings. This innovative approach allows you to:

Save Valuable Time

Eliminate hours spent reformatting manuscripts for different journals

Focus on Science

Concentrate on your research quality rather than formatting details

Reduce Rejection Anxiety

No more worrying about desk rejections due to formatting issues

Faster Submission

Submit your work as soon as it’s ready, without formatting delays

What You Still Need to Include

While we’re flexible on formatting, your manuscript must contain these essential elements for effective peer review:

  • Title and Author Information: Clear manuscript title and complete author names, affiliations, and contact details
  • Abstract: A concise summary of your research
  • Keywords: Minimum 4 keywords to help readers find your work
  • Main Text: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions (or appropriate sections for your discipline)
  • References: Complete citations in any consistent scholarly format—include DOIs when available. Your references can be in any scholarly citation format, so long as you use the same approach throughout the article. It is essential that you include:Author name(s)
    Journal or book title
    Article or chapter title
    Year of publication
    Volume and issue (where appropriate)
    Page numbers
  • Figures and Tables: All visual elements with clear captions and legends
  • Ethical Statements: Ethics approval, informed consent, and conflict of interest declarations as applicable
  • Funding Information: Details of financial support for the research
  • Data Availability: Statement on how readers can access your research data
  • Author Contributions: Brief description of each author’s role in the research

Your manuscript should be double-spaced and line-numbered for ease of reading and commenting.

If your paper is accepted for publication, we will most likely do all of the work to reformat it to the journal’s style. At this time, we may request that you provide us any additional items required for publishing. Keywords, a declaration of public interest, an author biography, and editable source files are all possible options.

Occasionally, you may be required to complete some formatting on your paper, either at the time of acceptance or when you are contacted to make modifications. This may be required for a variety of reasons, such as formatting references to match the journal style or if the editor has specifically asked a prepared version following modifications but before acceptance. If this is the case, you will be directed through the necessary steps.
